The Gallivanter's Guide

The Gallivanter's Guide is an 8 page privately published monthly newsletter with the aim of unearthing idyllic places for the dedicated traveller. We take no advertising, employ no journalists, and personally review only the best hotels and resorts in the world, ranging from classic Grandes Dames to gourmet 10-room inns.

The Gallivanter's Guide© was established in 1991 and we now have subscribers in 42 countries worldwide, ranging from North & South America, to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. We answer all letters personally and try to offer the same standard of service that a good hotel would, so that The Guide is more like a private member's club than a simple travel publication

Only hotels that we have personally assessed 'from the guest's point of view' are included in The Gallivanter's Guide©. Detailed assessments, illustrated by original colour photographs by David Maslin, cover every aspect of each hotel visited, from rooms and suite descriptions and service standards, to restaurant menus sampled.
